Egyptian Tourism Authority and Visa join forces to revive the tourism industry using social media

Under the patronage of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, Visa and the tourism industry are joining forces to help stimulate the Egyptian economy through increasing domestic and inbound tourism leveraging social media. The “Rediscover Egypt” campaign, launched today, is a unique photography competition, on the Visa Facebook page, allowing fans to compete using their photos of Egypt’s places and people, for a weekly prize of a Visa gift card worth of $250 along the span of five weeks. A grand prize of $5,000 value trip to a city of his/her choice in Egypt will be awarded to the most liked photo of the five weekly winners. In addition to the six winners, Visa will select its favorite five pictures and award the winners a Visa gift card worth of $250. The competition will offer fans an explicit opportunity to showcase their pictures of Egypt and to vote for their most liked places and faces of this ancient, yet vibrant country.
