The 5th Edition of Cairo International Jazz Festival

Under the auspices of the Ministry of tourism the 5th Edition of Cairo International Jazz Festival will take place from 21 to 23 March 2013 at Al Zhar Park-Genena Theater.

The festival will include jazz orchestras from United States, Spain, Austria, Morocco, Japan, Portugal, Lebanon, Netherlands, France, Lithuania, Brazil, and Germany.

Moreover the festival will witness the participation of music celebrities like “Gilberto Gil” who served as Minister of Culture in Brazil (2003-2008), the well known Spanish Flamenco singer “Diego El Cigala”, the French singer “Christophe Wallemme”, the American Singer “KJ Denhart”, and the famous Lebanese singer “Ziad El Rahbani” who will perform the closing ceremony of the festival, in addition to Egyptian Orchestras.

Cairo International Jazz Festival is also hosting a number of side events such as workshops, master classes, film screening, kids programs and after hours Jazz performance that takes the Jazz music beyond the stage to Cairo such as Cairo Jazz Club.

It is worth to be mentioned that Cairo International Jazz Festival was founded in March 2009. The festival has managed to maintain a reputation of presenting the best of Jazz of the world.
