Deir Al-Haggar, literally "monastery of stone" is a restored roman sandstone temple built during the reign of Nero and dedicated to the Ancient Egyptian gods Amun, Mut and Khons. The paintings, cartouches and symbols etched on the walls of the temple are well preserved.
